Riders and
Race Fans, Welcome to the
Honda Classic
AMA National Hare Scrambles
This
event would not be possible without the support and participation
of the many riders, sponsors and all of you fans. We offer a
big
"thank you" to all who help make the Hollister National
what it is and to the many true race fans who come each year
to cheer
their special riders. This year once again, we put our order
in
early for great weather on race weekend, so it will be 70 degrees
and T-shirt weather, till 3pm!
We
started this event on February 14, 1988 and called it the
Valentine's
Day Race. It got the Heart On nickname the following year and
has been referred to as the Heart On race ever since. In 1994,
we hosted our first AMA National Hare Scrambles and we are the
only National Hare Scrambles in California in 2005. This year
will be the 12th Annual National at Hollister.
This
event would not have survived without help from certain special
people, the most important being the Hollister Hills SVRA and
its staff for the park that we're racing at this weekend!
Others
we can't do without are the volunteer patrols from Hollister and
the National Motorcycle Patrol, who provide critical on-course
first aid when necessary. Last but not least, to all of our dedicated
family and friends who help each year in whatever weather conditions
we're faced with, simply because they love the sport and want
National-caliber off-road races to continue in California.
Hope
you have a good time and go home winners!
Until
next year, see ya!
