Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area is proud to be the home of the Heart On Classic AMA National Hare Scrambles presented by P&D Promotions. This year marks the 12th anniversary for the National at Hollister Hills, which signals the beginning of the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series.

Hollister Hills SVRA is a unit of the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division of the California State Parks. The staff at Hollister Hills has formed an extraordinary working relationship with P&D Promotions to ensure that the Hollister National is a challenging, exciting, and competitive cross-country motorcycle event that will keep it in your conversations year-round. Pete Francini, of P&D Promotions, is always on the prowl for new ways to ride the Upper Ranch at Hollister Hills. He keeps a constant vigil throughout the year and helps maintain the area by replanting off-trail portions of the previous year's course with native grass seed mixtures. This ensures that every year you will be able to ride the National in a completely different perspective.

The course skirts the West side of the famous San Andreas earthquake fault, which creates a mixture of soils that can prove exciting at times. The right amount of moisture, and it can't be beat. Too little or too much, and it can force you to draw on every ounce of your technical skills and stamina.

All the staff at Hollister Hills love to work with Pete and Diane for this event. Behind the scenes, there are Equipment Operators doing finishing touches, the Park Maintenance workers and Park Aides keeping the facilities clean and operational, and the Park Rangers who coordinate the EMS activities and monitor course safety throughout the race. Even with this cadre of employees, it wouldn't be possible to pull it off without the work of the Volunteer Motorcycle Patrol from both Hollister Hills and Carnegie SVRAs.

We feel that the Hollister National fits perfectly within our mission, and we feel that we live up to our motto in helping to make this race a reality.
